Major Grant Kick Starts Project

A generous grant from the Waikato Regional Council’s Biodiversity Fund has allowed us to get underway with our Ring of Steel project. The project is an ambitious initiative to help us take a big leap forward with achieving our goals. Existing predator traps and bait stations positioned along the boundary of the conservation area will be supplemented with additional traps and stations to provide a greater defence from invading predators.

The grant of $30,000, will fund the purchase of more than 200 new traps and bait stations over two years from 2022.
